Discover Bakhoor Al Canaan (بخور كنعان) — a beautifully aromatic, handcrafted bakhoor inspired by the ancient land of Canaan, its botanical heritage and the enduring cultural traditions of Palestine.

Named after Canaan, the ancient region encompassing much of modern-day Palestine and the surrounding Levant, this distinctive blend pays homage to a land rich in history, natural beauty and cultural identity.

Fragrant woods, aromatic plants and precious resins have been used throughout the ancient Levant for centuries, with incense playing a role in religious ceremonies, cultural practices and the perfuming of sacred spaces. Drawing inspiration from this rich heritage, Al Canaan brings together carefully selected botanicals that reflect the landscapes and aromatic history of the region.

The refreshing, evergreen character of juniper meets the delicate floral calm of lavender, while cedarwood lends a warm, grounding depth. Pistacia gum, an aromatic resin associated with the Mediterranean and Levantine landscape, adds a distinctive earthy, resinous richness.

Each ingredient has been thoughtfully selected not simply for its fragrance, but for its connection to the botanical heritage of ancient Canaan — creating a blend that honours the land through scent.

The result is a beautifully layered aroma: woody, herbal, gently floral and resinous, balancing the freshness of wild botanicals with the comforting warmth of ancient aromatic traditions.

Every batch of Bakhoor Al Canaan is carefully handcrafted in Birmingham, with each botanical ingredient thoughtfully blended to create a beautifully balanced, aromatic powder.

Unlike our hand-rolled bakhoor, Al Canaan is presented as a versatile, finely blended powder, allowing you to enjoy its fragrance in different ways. For a richer, more intense aromatic experience, simply sprinkle a small amount onto a lit charcoal disc in a suitable incense burner. Alternatively, for those who prefer a gentler, slower release of fragrance with less smoke, place a small amount into the dish of a tealight wax melt burner and allow the warmth to gradually release its delicate botanical aromas without directly burning the blend.
